I'm staying with Anthony and Nina who I know from Amsterdam. They've
been great hosts. Anthony cooked a smoked Aubergine curry for dinner.

While you're in Basel and you find yourself looking for a public restroom, the ones at the Hauptbahnhof (central station) are immaculate. It'll cost you a euro, but it's worth it.
